Overview

Chemka Oasis is the only place in Tanzania where underground water aquifer and river are pushed to the surface and interact with geothermal sources, forming a hot spring. The place is still virgin with no formal studies conducted about its formation.

Location: Between Moshi and Arusha, in Hai district at Rundugai village. 1.5 hours drive from Moshi.

Attractions: Clean crystal clear water, aquatic species, various bird species, vegetation dominated by hyphenia species.

Activities: Swimming, sunbathing, bird watching, photographing.
